Assembling and filling the new indoor grow tent
This week the new components arrived for the new indoor grow tent. The led salad bar is transitioning from being a salad greens only area to overflow for the greens as well as a place to have our micro-greens/kale to sprout and be then moved into the new four shelf growing tent. Here’s a video of the before and after assembly of the new tent:

Adding driplines for existing garden boxes and our blueberries
This past week when Paula and I were wandering in our zone4/5 area of the backyards upper hillside we noticed that two of our blueberry bushes were looking pretty sad and dying. Come to find out when I transplanted them last fall I neglected to install dripline around them like all the others within this cluster of bushes. So, to remedy I installed the dripline around them and while I was at it I also replaced all of the drip-soaker 1/4″ lines in the two lower yard garden boxes (by the stone patio/firepit) with this “real” 1/4″ dripline with emitters every 6 inches.

The rest of this “drip-soaker” line in the other lower yard garden boxes will get replaced this fall (I’ve moved away from this kind of line because soaker hoses are pretty much worthless; they only last one or two growing seasons before drying out, cracking and failing to be porous enough to distribute water evening in the planting bed.

Assembling new outdoor furniture
With the year long test of the aderondack composite chair complete (purchased for Brian’s Birthday last year) and seeing positive results for longevity we ordered a matching chair for Paula. The assembly was straight forward and when all was said and done we had a couple of great evenings with the pugs sitting out watching the garden fade into the setting sun. πŸ™‚

Adding possible revenue for PnB Homesteading by becoming an Amazon Affiliate
This is something I wanted to be completely open and transparent with for our blog as well as our Youtube channel show notes.

As a way to maybe generate a little extra income for our homestead activities Paula and I joined the Amazon Affiliates program where by if list items you recommend on your website and guide people to Amazon a small portion of the resulting sale will be passed back to the individual. This does not affect the price you pay as a customer of Amazon, but it does help out small homesteaders like us by referring back a little money. πŸ™‚

We figure its a win-win for us as well as those that would like to support us by using links to purchase items we’re using ourselves on the urban homestead.

We’ll everyone, we’ve reached the end of another beautiful weekend and it’s time to wrap this post up. Paula and I hope that all of you get a chance to work the earth this coming week, whether it’s in a garden or climbing a mountain. πŸ™‚

Bye everyone and be safe!
